The American Miniature Horse AMHA
1st breed of Miniature Horses recognised in France by the IFCE En Convention Etrangère since 1st April 2011.
The American Miniature Horse AMHA is a very beautiful, well-balanced animal which, without having a size benchmark, will have the same proportions in conformation as a horse of a light breed. It combines the qualities of elegance and refinement with a generous, lively mind, making it an excellent small sport or show horse.
The American Miniature Horse is a particularly versatile breed when it comes to work. Their easy contact with people makes them willing and inquisitive horses. This disconcerting ease of learning is undoubtedly due to our relationship with them, which is harmonised by working almost exclusively on foot.
They weigh between 70 and 130 kg and have a pulling capacity of around 200 kg, making them ideal for harnessing, Ski-Roller Joering or even sledging in snowy regions. What's more, it can be covered with a saddle weighing no more than 15-20 kg, depending on its conformation - enough to lighten your load for touring.
